I have been traveling on foot for several years now and have already traveled about 15,000 km in Europe and Japan. I travel from place to place for exhibitions, performances, conferences or just to explore. My artworks are mostly produced from found objects that I reuse and transform into immersive installations, paintings, performances, sounds, etc. Afterwards, they often go back to where they came from or are used for something else. I like the idea of a constantly changing artwork. Most of my productions are ephemeral and digital. They deal with the dematerialization of the object in Art, the disappearance of the author, or the minimalism in our way of consuming and in our daily life. Despite certain qualities, I am prone to anxiety. My self-esteem is sometimes lacking and I have a lot of complexes about my physical appearance. This is improving today. I have a lot of colorful tattoos that I mainly draw myself. Depuis plusieurs années maintenant, je voyage à pied et j'ai déjà parcouru environ 15 000 km en Europe et au Japon. Je me déplace d'un endroit à l'autre pour des expositions, des performances, des conférences ou simplement pour explorer. Mes œuvres d'art sont pour la plupart produites à partir d'objets trouvés que je réutilise et transforme en installations immersives, peintures, performances, sons, etc. Ensuite, souvent, elles retournent d'où elles viennent ou sont utilisées pour autre chose. J'aime l'idée d'une œuvre d'art qui change constamment. La plupart de mes productions sont éphémères et digitales. Elles traitent de la dématérialisation de l’objet en Art, de la disparition de l'auteur, ou encore du minimalisme dans notre façon de consommer et au quotidien. Malgré certaines qualités, je suis sujet à l’anxiété. Mon estime de soi me fait parfois défaut et je cumule pas mal de complexes vis à vis de mon apparence physique. Cela s'améliore aujourd'hui. J'ai beaucoup de tatouages colorés que je dessine principalement moi-même. an atypical artistic project that will try to tell the experience I had after having walked almost 15 000 km through France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Japan.I followed GR trails, unmarked paths, roads, pilgrimage routes such as Compostela, the Via Francigena or even initiation paths such as the 88 temples of Shikoku Island in Japan. Sometimes I let myself be guided by the chance of encounters and life, trying not to plan anything. A form of self-abandonment privileging the letting go and the present moment. During this time I voluntarily put myself in parenthesis of the world and its vagaries. I became a walking artist, a wanderer, a peregrinus with a life reduced to its minimum: walking, eating, drinking, sleeping. Beyond going to a specific place, I walk towards others in order to discover a form of truth. I walk with love, peace and kindness and I continue to do so every day. I gave up my home and the comfort of a sedentary life for a life on the road. None of this was premeditated, it was more like an evidence, a call. It was also the right time to do it. I left alone, with my backpack containing a material autonomy that allowed me to create, sleep and cook wherever I wanted. By its anachronistic rhythm, this long walk fed a research and an artistic work documenting my daily life through film, writing, drawing, or music. I was inspired by everything I could glean and the encounters I made along the way. It is a dive into the richness of reality, a liberation from the artifice of illusion and above all a unique experience from an artistic, sociological, philosophical and spiritual point of view. Today I realize that this adventure is something bigger than me, it is still sometimes difficult for me to see and understand all the outcomes and this is what, in a way, makes it rich. During these long walks, I have experienced and learned to appreciate the great freedom of simplicity. I was content with the essential and what was not, quickly became a burden. It refocused me on myself. The confrontation with the reality of the walker was sometimes very hard, yet, with hindsight, it is in these moments that I managed to touch moments of grace. It was exciting to immerse myself in it, to forget myself and simply accept all that is, to be present there and now. J'ai abandonné ma maison et le confort d'une vie sédentaire pour une vie sur la route. Rien de tout cela n'était prémédité, c'était plus comme une évidence, un appel. C'était aussi le bon moment pour le faire. Je suis parti seul, avec mon sac à dos contenant une autonomie matérielle qui me permettait de pouvoir créer, dormir et cuisiner où bon me semble. Par son rythme anachronique, cette longue marche a alimentée une recherche et un travail artistique documentant mon quotidien par le biais du film, de l’écriture, du dessin, ou encore de la musique. Je m’inspirais de tout ce que je pouvais glaner et des rencontres faites en chemin. C’est une plongée dans la richesse de la réalité, une libération de l’artifice de l’illusion et surtout une expérience unique d’un point de vue artistique, sociologique, philosophique et spirituelle. Aujourd’hui je me rends compte que cette aventure est quelque chose de plus grand que moi, il m'est parfois encore difficile d'en voir et d'en comprendre tous les aboutissants et c’est ce qui, en quelque sorte, en fait sa richesse. Durant ces longues marches, j’ai expérimenté et appris à apprécier la grande liberté de la simplicité. Je me suis contenté de l’essentiel et ce qui ne l’était pas est vite devenu un fardeau. Cela m’a recentré sur moi-même. La confrontation à la réalité du marcheur était parfois très dure, pourtant, avec du recul, c’est dans ces moments là que je suis arrivé a toucher des moments de grâce. Ce fut passionnant de m’y plonger, de m’oublier et d’accepter simplement tout ce qui est, d’être présent là et maintenant. Le projet Walk in Progress est le résultat de ces années d’errance pendant lesquelles j’ai collecté de nombreuses images, videos, pensées, son que je souhaite assembler autour d’un film experimental qui sera par la suite le point central d’une installation plastique où émergera des performances, live, conferences, workshops, autour des themes rencontrés durant ce projet. Geneva that try to uses the present as raw material and vital moment through a hybrid audiovisual work in evolution during the exhibition. This proposal, by its performative and interactive aspect, plays with the borders between the virtual and the real, between technology and craft, between visible and invisible worlds. Once the installation Digital Dream Cosmos is activated during a one to one individual performance session, I then proposed to the visitors to work on their "Digital Aura", or the realization of their digital art portrait, as a digital and unique emotional card in that particular present moment. Each sessions last an average of 20 minutes. It take place by appointment the time of the exhibition. The Digital Aura Gif is a work of art in its own right. It can be defined as an emotional digital aura animated portrait created especially for someone during a personal session. It can be considered as a digital art portrait in which empathy and positive energy are the key words. In a one-on-one session, I create a personal digital aura animated portrait with a particular technique based on different rituals, discussions, feelings, intuition and vision. Each digital aura portrait is unique and belongs to the person who acquires it. They are made with a smartphone. The term gif refers to an image file format that supports both moving and still images. In this session, with my phone, I make a photo portrait of the person. This portrait represents the state they are in at that moment. From there, I will begin to create animation effects on the still image; rebalancing the energies around it. All portraits are digital and made with a smartphone via different types of applications and distributed mainly on social networks. Despite all the fears about the digital world, I believe that all these new technologies have a great potential for positivity and healing. We are just at the beginning of an era where smartphones and all types of digital tools are becoming more and more prominent and accompanying us in our daily lives. It is a place where art must also question and redefine its position in terms of production and dissemination. The relationship to time is an important aspect to apprehend and understand this work which means nothing other than the experience of the body's relationship to space and time. One could imagine a world where the notion of creation would dissolve in time, space and color. Our senses would be our only pillars. Through this, I would like to propose to become what we see, that is to say color, light, space, time and movement. 🇫🇷 Installation artistique multidisciplinaire réalisée lors d'une résidence à HiFlow Geneva qui tente d'utiliser le présent comme matière première et moment vital à travers une œuvre audiovisuelle hybride en évolution pendant l'exposition. Cette proposition, par son aspect performatif et interactif, joue avec les frontières entre le virtuel et le réel, entre technologie et artisanat, entre monde visible et invisible. Une fois l'installation Digital Dream Cosmos activée lors d'une session de performance individuelle, je propose aux visiteurs de travailler sur leur "Aura Digitale", ou la réalisation de leur portrait artistique numérique, comme une carte émotionnelle numérique et unique dans ce moment particulier. Chaque session dure en moyenne 20 minutes. Elles ont lieu sur rendez-vous le temps de l'exposition. Le Digital Aura Gif est une oeuvre d’art à part entière. Il peut être défini comme un portrait animé numérique émotionnel réalisé spécialement pour quelqu'un lors d'une session personnelle avec l’artiste dans lequel l'empathie et l'énergie positive sont les maîtres mots. Dans une session individuelle, je crée un portrait animé numérique personnel avec une technique particulière basée sur différents rituels, discussions, sentiments, intuition et vision. Chaque portrait numérique est unique et appartient à la personne qui l'acquiert. Ils sont fabriqués avec un smartphone. Le terme gif fait référence à un format de fichiers image qui prend en charge à la fois images animées et images fixes. Dans cette séance, avec mon téléphone, je fais un portrait photo de la personne. Ce portrait représente l'état dans lequel elle se trouve à ce moment précis. À partir de là, je vais commencez à créer des effets d'animation sur l'image fixe; rééquilibrer les énergies autour. Tous les portraits sont numériques et réalisés avec un smartphone via différents types d'applications et diffusés principalement sur les réseaux sociaux. Malgré toutes les craintes suscitées par le monde numérique, je crois que toutes ces nouvelles technologies ont un grand potentiel de positivité et de guérison. Nous sommes juste au début d'une ère où les smartphones et tous les types d'outils numériques prennent de plus en plus de place et nous accompagnent dans notre quotidien. C’est un lieu où l’art doit aussi questionner et redéfinir sa position en terme de production et de diffusion. Le rapport au temps est un aspect important pour appréhender et comprendre ce travail qui ne signifie rien d'autre que l'expérience du rapport du corps à l'espace et au temps. On pourrait imaginer un monde où la notion de création se dissoudrait dans le temps, l'espace et la couleur. Nos sens seraient nos seuls piliers. STANGE/SPLITTER SPLATTER&nbsp;and I settled for the months of May and June 2022 for an art residency project in Groningen (NL) where we created our Kamp GRUONINGA exhibition by the invitation of the&nbsp; HET RESORT Art Residency collective.The Kamp GRUONINGA exhibition is a collective multimedia work Camp installation including as well 3 differents individuals corners with personal works from the 3 artists in residency. The Kamp island and solstice parade island is a collaboration between Janneke Raaphorst and Joseph Marzolla sharing their sense of shelter by building a camp and by showing video portraits of life before K.G; Joseph as a walking pilgrim, Janneke as a cyberbird nesting in an abandoned greenhouse. Splitter Splatter guided a ceramics session to create necessary tools for camp and knitted a total bodysuit costume for their performance.During the finissage on the summer solstice day, the tents were packed up to move them to a secret island. Audience were invited to join the nomadic collective in a « moving out ceremony&nbsp;» guidance and parade to return elements from the show to nature. At sunset, Splitter Splatter joined the festivities for a colourful musical surprise boat appearance.Upcycling and bushcrafting were key-words. We’ve mostly worked with what we find around us.&nbsp;We’ve spent weeks to collect material such as fabrics, woods, branches in order to gave them a second life. We did handmade dying colours with natural plants, painting, splashing, cutting in order to gave found materials a new shape. We were here to prepare for the celebration of the Summer Solstice on June 21, the longest period of daylight. It also marks the beginning of summer. It’s a celebration of fertility and represents the transition from action to nourishment. We celebrated the nourishing light of the Sun and the light within each of us. The cycle of the Sun represents the cycle of our lives and reflects the natural flow of energy moving inward and outward. We can nurture others, just as the Sun nurtures us. That particular event was the closing of our residency and our exhibition. This was a gathering festival of celebrations, being back together, reflecting on each other, talking, laugh, dance, eat and many other things. This event involved packing up all together our camp from the indoor exhibition space towards an outdoor festivities island near by the lake. We&nbsp; moved like the summer for a new cycle. It can be seen as a digital healing art portrait in which empathy and positive energy are the key words. In a one to one session, I will create a personal digital animated portrait with a particular technic based on different rituals, discussion, feeling, intuition and vision. Each digital portrait is unique and belongs to the person who acquires it. All portraits are digital and mainly made with a smartphone through different types of apps and diffuse or not over social media. Despite all the fears inspired by the digital world, I believe that all this new technology has a great potential for positivity and healing. We are just at the beginning of an era where smartphones and all kinds of digital tools become more and more prominent and accompany us on a daily basis. This is a place where art also needs to question and redefine its position in terms of production and diffusion. The term gif refers to a format for image files that supports both animated and static images. In this session, with my phone, I will take a photo portrait of the person. This portrait represents the state the person is right now, at this exact moment. From that, I will start creating animation effects on the still image ; rebalancing the energies around the person and the aura through an image. ︎&nbsp;instagram <img width="360" height="360" Initiated by artists Joseph Marzolla and Melanie Bonajo, the duo released their first album ‘INUA’, which was recorded during the winter, in an isolated village of East Greenland. Their music and performances are inspired by places unpierced by human thoughts, speaking landscapes, isolation, songs of ghosts and animal spirits, colonialism, erosion of the ethno-spheres, extinct feelings, fear of silence, intimacy to nature and death, absence of history, tri-genderism, loss of navigation, unrevealed yet perceivable parallel universes, like the spirit of INUA. Two of their videos were selected for the Netherlands Film Festival and Melanie Bonajo’s artwork ‘Pee on Presidents’ was part of the documentary festival IDFA. INUA is a spirit or soul that exists in all; people, animals, things (or matter), elements, lakes, mountains and plants. The video focuses on the self-sustainability of a community in East-Greenland, their closeness with death, the domestic sphere and their rapidly changing environment. East-Greenland is one of the rare places on this planet who are still on the bridge of time. Here traditional wisdom,life-style and craft are still practiced. The place is still connected to its past, but at the same time is presented with rapid modernization processes.These places have become rare and hard to find on the planet. Mostly, because they are difficult to reach and are not of any economic interest for Western culture. Plants, animals and humans have the same fundamental cosmic origins and are responsive to the same principles, obligated by the same duties and responsible for the collective well being of all. The essay places perspective on the language of human emotions as the gateway to understanding our connections between all life and the world we live in. It also presents a community of artists who work with likeminded themes and reveals the connection between them.
